Recently my husband and son went to a clothing donation bin to donate my husband’s clothes. My son asked why my husband was giving away his clothes. He told him he no longer needed them and that that they would be given to other families in need. My son asked why they can’t buy their own clothes. My husband explained that there are families who may not have the money to buy them so we give them what we don’t need. It’s better to give rather than throw it away. As parents we sometimes forget that our actions instead of direct teaching is so much more impactful and speak volumes to young minds.
